Righteousness Exalts a Nation

healing leaves

“And the leaves of the tree were for healing the nations …”

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34

It is interesting to note, that the nations which have the most idolatry also seem to have the most disease and poverty. This has been true of India and also of Africa. The opposite has been true of nations that, for the most part, were built on Godly principles. In the B’rit Hadashah (New Covenant), the Book of Revelation speaks of a tree that’s leaves are for the healing of the nations:

Next the angel showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Between the main street and the river was the Tree of Life producing twelve kinds of fruit, a different kind every month; and the leaves of the tree were for healing the nations. Revelation 22:1-2

This vision was prophesied by Ezekiel:

Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the Sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine. Ezekiel 47:12

That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations. Psalm 67:2
